Summer Teaching Resources for English Learners

Summer is not just a time for relaxation; it’s also a fantastic opportunity to make learning engaging and meaningful for English learners. If you work with multilingual learners in summer school, tutoring, or an enrichment program, here are a few summer-themed resources and other engaging ideas to help ELLs develop their language skills while having fun!

5 Summer Teaching Resources for English Learners

1. Summer Story Writing: Using familiar summer contexts can make learning more relatable and enjoyable for English learners. Narrative writing helps ELLs improve their storytelling skills, creativity, and vocabulary. This resource includes anchor charts supports to provide fun summer visuals and suggested vocabulary in a word bank. Then use the vocabulary and speaking practice as a springboard for writing stories.
